Dreams
of Home

The Volga-Vyatka Branch of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. S. Pushkin (Arsenal) presents the Dreams of Home exhibition, which explores the concept of home as a key phenomenon for understanding humanity.

Dreams of Home places the idea of home at the center of attention. What is home? What lies behind the so-called feeling of home? Works of art, cultural monuments, and artifacts from different eras reveal the many facets of this phenomenon. The exhibition features works from the collections of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Novgorod Museum-Reserve, the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum, the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, Triumph Gallery (Moscow), pop/off/art Gallery (Moscow), Nikolai Evdokimov Gallery (Saint Petersburg), Art4 Museum (Moscow), Anna Nova Gallery (Saint Petersburg), Shift Art Gallery (Moscow), as well as contemporary artworks from private collections — over 100 pieces in total.

Presented under the auspices of the First International Biennale of Environmental Art, the exhibition invites viewers to consider our planet as humanity’s home. In building and refining its own dwellings, humanity separates itself from nature, creating its civilization — a development that inevitably leads to ecological challenges.
