The exhibition Anima Mundi (World Soul) is based on the idea of a single
inner nature of the world, conceived as a supreme living being endowed
with aspirations, perceptions, and feelings.
The project will present works in which the artists explore the fundamental
principles of spiritual ecology in their connection to religious mysticism,
concepts of esoteric philosophy, and mythological perceptions of nature and
the interconnectedness of all things.
The exposition will feature both works by contemporary authors and pieces from:
the museum collections of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Oriental Art, the Historical and Ethnographic Museums.
Belonging to ritual practices of various eras and peoples, ancient artifacts
and votive objects refer us to the diverse spiritual contexts of human
existence in the world and its mystical connection to the life of nature.
